Part 1 | Part 2 | Appendix A | Appendix B

Hello. My name is Chris. I am nobody, really. An average citizen. I am an overweight 42 year old white male from the Midwestern suburbs of the US who has been fortunate enough to live a pretty comfortable life. I used to be a freelance graphic designer with a focus on small businesses, but I'm coming to terms with the fact that that career and part of my life is more than likely over in light of current events. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.
I've always been concerned about social injustice and tried to stay politically informed, even dabbling in some activism here and there. At times I've stepped away from paying attention for my own mental health, or due to laziness, defeatism, whatever. But I've never stopped caring, or trying, to fight the good fight and do the right thing.
The news recently has of course swept us all up, and touched all our lives in some way or another. The world has never seen anything like the "Coronavirus Pandemic," and it's clear that our society will be changed forever when we finally come out the other end of this mess. But I've had the luxury of time recently, and in reading the news about things that were going on, I couldn't help but notice the patterns, and that a lot of stuff didn't exactly make sense.
So, here we go, with the "conspiracy theory."
I hate that term, because although it's technically accurate, it's been demonized and weaponized by the media and society at large to take on a bad connotation. Tinfoil hats, alien abductions, crazy people muttering to themselves, etc. You've no doubt got a lot of images in your mind of a conspiracy theorist.
And make no mistake, what I'm going to tell you here is all currently very popular conspiracy theory. However, I think that by removing opinions and conjecture from it, and focusing on facts and things that have already happened, I can present this huge amount of overwhelming, disparate information in a way that makes it less a "theory" and more a "research project." And so that is how I have approached this.
I have spent the last week doing little else besides reading every news and opinion article I could find, saving and organizing hundreds of links, and assembling a coherent, logical outline to organize and present these theories, and more importantly, facts. There are a lot of less-than-reputable sites and publications out there, and I have tried when at all possible to provide sources from verifiable news sites, with a wide range of slants and focuses, to illustrate that what is happening is not part of any one particular political agenda.
I hope that you take the time to check the links, really look into the information presented here, and form your own opinions. Please do not just take my word for it. To that end, there are also a few links mixed in that are labeled as having come from conspiracy. These are well-written and well-reasoned posts from other concerned citizens that I think are worth reading, and relevant to the discussion here.
One last thing - If you are new to most of these ideas, the information presented here is more than likely going to seem overwhelming at first. I encourage you now, and always, to take mental health breaks for yourself, and put down your phone or turn off your computer. The information will be here when you come back. And as you'll soon understand, what is happening is an unstoppable tide, truly a force of nature at this point, and there is nothing you can do to fight it, so try your hardest to relax, put on some chill music, hug your dog, and most of all...
BREATHE.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
If you start researching conspiracy theory, you're going to find a lot of information. Some much better or worse presented than others, and some much more plausible or unbelievable than others. Despite the seeming ridiculousness of some things you might read, I encourage you to always approach new information with an open mind.
That said though, I have one main principle that guides all my beliefs about conspiracy theories, and that is the "Filter of Likelihood." Essentially, you have to ask yourself how possible, how likely, and how feasible a piece of information is. Furthermore, you need to ask yourself what the motivation would be. In many cases, it's quite easy to see how something makes a lot of sense based on other known info, whereas some theories seem rather implausible no matter how you look at it.
I am interested only in the plausible, and where possible, the already actualized. Additionally, there's a lot to be said, and a lot that has already been written on many of these topics, so I will focus on current events and simple concepts.
I will also ask you to open your mind to possibility. Please consider this as you evaluate new information:
  1. Do you believe there are things going on in the world that you don't know about yet?
  2. Do you believe that there is technology and science you've never heard of?
  3. Do you believe that society is progressing at an increasing rate?
  4. Do you believe that as populations grow, we require new societal strategies?
  5. Do you believe that those with power and money want to retain their power and money?
Of course you believe all these things, and none of these are wild or unusual concepts. Rather, these are very basic concepts that apply to everyone, and always have. They are all part of our shared human experience, and undeniable facts of life. Populations grow, societies evolve, technology advances, and the world changes. And most important to our discussion here, people, families, and empires constantly jockey for power and control, while fighting for resources, power, fame, and...
MONEY.
We all hate TicketMaster, right? Who do they think they are, what the hell is this bullshit "service fee," etc. It's something everyone can get behind. But did you know that TicketMaster willingly cultivates that image? That venues, teams, and artists, in their pursuit of more money, raise fees and then let TicketMaster be the bad guy and take the heat so their reputations remain intact?
There are many more people, organizations, and other entities in the world playing that same role for those who really have the money, who really call the shots. And those who call the shots work very hard and spend absolutely unfathomable amounts of money, time, and blood, to make sure that you don't ever realize who's actually taking your money.
They do this in the simplest, easiest way. If you simply control information from the top down, and disseminate it when and where you see fit, you can effect great societal change without lifting a finger.
Please imagine... really, try to imagine... You just read an article, saw a video, whatever, from a very, very reputable source. And it just informed you that an asteroid was 83% likely to impact the Earth next month. What would you do? What would happen in the world?
Hopefully an asteroid will not hit next month, but it's important to really imagine what would happen and why, and how. Because a huge amount of information would be generated and published, people would panic, society would crumble, and the world as you know it would change forever in an instant, the moment you read that headline.
Control of information is one of the most powerful tools known to mankind today. A person living in 2020 can easily encounter as much information in a day as someone in Medieval times might have encountered in a lifetime. And it comes at you from all angles, in all forms, non-stop, 24/7. Much like the water in the pipe, the information is always there, and one needs but turn it on.
Disseminating the information then becomes a practice all its own, and to be sure, information processing accounts for more than half of the US GDP. And the rate at which it's spread, and way it is handled makes a huge difference in the societal repercussions. So a few different techniques are used:
It might be the greatest understatement of all time to say that there has been a lot of information passed around about COVID-19, the "Coronavirus," recently. In fact, there has never been anything like what we are currently experiencing in all of human history, and not by a long shot. And this unprecedented turn of events has caused a lot of people to react in a lot of ways, and say and do a lot of things, for better or for worse.
Full disclosure: In particular, if you look up conspiracy theory, you'll see a lot of stuff suggesting that the "Coronavirus is a hoax." (You'll also find a lot of poorly-written rambling) I want to be clear that I DO NOT believe that. I am 100% sure that there is a Coronavirus, that it is making people sick, that a lot of people are dying, and that our medical professionals and many other undervalued workers are overwhelmed, and breaking their backs every day to do their best to keep their friends, families, and loved ones safe. I am extraordinarily grateful for them and admire the resolve and bravery that so many have shown in the face of this disaster. I do not think it is a hoax at all.
However, I think that literally everything else that is happening surrounding the "pandemic" is.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The Pandemic
In the first week of January this year, I got sick. Really sick. I know when I got it and who I got it from, and honestly the exact moment I got it (I only was in proximity of the dude for a few minutes). He had warned me that he was really sick, and I blew it off. I started feeling sick a day or two later, and a day or two after that I felt like I was dying. Fever, chills, aches, extraordinary fatigue. And literal, nonstop, 24/7 coughing. I had every single symptom of what we now know as COVID-19. I commented to anyone who would listen that I didn't recall ever feeling that sick before in my entire life. The most memorable part of it though was that after a couple days, I completely lost my sense of smell and taste. Joked a lot about how you could feed me onions and soap cause I'd have no idea. I try to have a good attitude about being sick.
I spent a week sleeping on the couch before I finally went to the doctor. She gave me a Prednisolone steroid pack (which has worked well for me in the past), some Trazodone to knock me out, and Benzonatotate for my cough. As soon as I took the first dose of steroids I started to feel pretty fucking great, and it was more or less a non-issue after that.
I spoke to a lot of people about it then and after, and man, I can't tell you how many stories I personally heard from people I know that said the exact same thing. Then I started reading the same story over and over again on Reddit:
We didn't start really hearing about the Coronavirus in the media until the beginning of March, and we didn't hear about the "Pandemic" until just a couple weeks ago. And what a couple weeks it's been since then. But I am quite certain that it's been around for a lot longer and that I, and a lot of other people I know, had it - and DID NOT DIE FROM IT - way back in January.
We now know that the first documented case in the US was on January 19th, but that word "documented" is so, so important here. That means that we had identified the virus, developed a test, and tested a person with the symptoms that day. It does NOT mean that was when the virus reached the United States. How sick do you have to be before you take a day off work? Before you go to the doctor? With America's healthcare system or lack thereof, it's almost certain that many people had this virus before we determined what it was, and how infectious it really was.
There is also the matter of the statistics of severity vs the regular flu. This is a highly contentious topic and I am no medical expert, and do not wish to make any assertions. However, what I can tell you from my personal experience is this: I had a horrible "flu" in January, got basic medicine, got better. So, either I had the flu, or perhaps I did indeed have the Coronavirus.
We will never know because I was never tested. But the important thing is that it doesn't matter. Either I (and many others) had the Coronavirus and it did not kill us (calling into question the severity of the infection) or we just had a bad cold or flu, but it had the exact same symptoms as COVID-19 (calling into question the extent of Coronavirus diagnoses). But logically, one of those two statements is true.
Furthermore, the data keeps changing, and I don't mean increasing on a daily basis. I mean up and down, back and forth, it is deadly or maybe it isn't, etc. On January 14 the WHO told you it couldn't spread from human to human. But then on Jan 19 we saw the first case of Coronavirus in the United States. Then it turns out that the Wuhan market outbreak began earlier in December. And then it's an "epidemic," but most people will only get mild symptoms. What are you supposed to believe? And it sure does seem to come at you as a firehose, and it's hard to even think about anything because OHMYGODTHECORONAVIRUS!
But let's stop and look a couple basic facts. As a matter of fact, I'm going to let Dr. Sucharit Bhakdi explain this one to you. This is a very informative 10 minute video, watch it:
Sucharit Bhakdi - Very clear math showing that the COVID statistics are being manipulated
So 80% of people only experience mild symptoms, and we're crashing the economy for this? The statistics aren't any more extreme than many other illnesses we've had over time, and we're crashing the economy for this? It doesn't make sense until you consider that there are other factors besides just the virus at play.
Wolfgang Wodard - Explaining how the statistics are being manipulated to cause panic
The media, and society at large is inundating you with terrifying information about the Coronavirus. But if it's not as bad as we originally thought, then why? We don't freak out about every illness that comes along, and we've certainly never in the history of civilization had over 1/3 of the global population locked down under mandatory quarantine.
And then there's the debate about where the virus came from. We believe it came from a meat market in China, under unsanitary conditions. The science behind a coronavirus making the leap from one species to another is well-established and researched, and it is a very likely scenario. There are also conspiracy theories that state that China released it on its people intentionally, or even that the US military released it in China. Again, we will never know exactly where this Coronavirus came from. It may be natural, it may be man made, and there are very plausible paths for both. I don't know what to believe myself. So here I ask you to make your own judgement based on likelihood.
What we do know though is that the state of the world this virus has been unleashed on has played a major factor in its spread. In 1950 the global population was 2.5 billion, and that has exploded to almost 8 billion people in 2020. As a matter of fact, population growth has been exponential since about the time of the Industrial Revolution.
With all these people on the planet there are sure to be many disagreements and conflicts, and there indeed have been. As a matter of fact, 2019 saw global protests on an unprecedented scale, in Hong Kong, France, Syria, and many other countries. Citizens have literally been fighting police and military with rocks, clubs, arrows, and molotov cocktails.
Did you know that? Despite my seeing headlines and pictures every day of the riots in Hong Kong, I have been shocked to learn that multiple of my close friends, intelligent and aware people, had no knowledge whatsoever of the protests even existing. But that is far from a coincidence; rather, it is quite by design.

Billionaires and Coincidences
Another major talking point over the last 5 to 10 years has been the "1%" - the handful of super-rich individuals who posess and control the vast majority of the Earth's wealth and resources. Where it used to just be a numerical term, "Billionaire" is now a dirty word, and one of the nastiest. We all hate billionaires. They are evil, and profit off the exploitation of the rest of the world.
The "Illuminati" we call them, in pursuit of a "New World Order." Crazy stuff, right? Mysterious symbols and people in black robes doing nefarious things in secret meetings, and running the world from behind the scenes. We love the Illuminati, it's a huge pop culture thing now. The subject of endless speculation, they are made fun of in the media, movies, and now Taco Bell commercials. It's so far fetched it could never really be true. And the fact that you think that is by design as well.
So, we don't know where the Coronavirus came from, but it's certainly here, and there are lot of other things unfolding in the world around it. Many different current events from all different places and fields of study. Some of it seems a little too coincidental. It is certainly very coincidental that this economically destructive Coronavirus entered the world right as there were global uprisings, protests in the street, and a growing public hatred for billionaires.
Well, here are a few other coincidences: Hundreds of CEOs of major companies stepped down from their positions in recent months. Multiple US Senators sold stock right before the market crashed. Even the boss of the New York Stock Exchange sold his own stock right before the crash. Did they know something they weren't telling us?
Here's another coincidence. In 2010, The Rockefeller Foundation published a selection of future-predicting scenarios in the name of "exploring the ways that technology and development could co-evolve." One of these four scenarios, entitled "Lock Step," eerily predicts a global viral pandemic and the resulting hypothetical consequences, which almost exactly mirrors the COVID-19 pandemic we are in the midst of today.
Also coincidental: The first case of COVID-19 was diagnosed in China on November 17th, 2019. Literally one month earlier, The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security in partnership with the World Economic Forum and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation hosted Event 201, a high-level pandemic exercise on October 18, 2019, in New York, NY. In this exercise, they discuss the potential implications and consequences of a novel Coronavirus, including an economic crash, martial law, and of particular interest, the control of information. (You can view some published highlights here)
The World Economic Forum is comprised of the richest of the rich. The 1%. The Billionaires. CEO's, politicians, business owners, and many other powerful and influential figures. They meet regularly to discuss topics of global concern, and strongly control the dissemination of information. And of primary concern to many of them is maintaining their wealth and power in a rapidly-changing world.
And finally, here's one more coincidence: At the exact same time as the Event 201 exercise, The World Military Games was held in Wuhan, China, Oct 18-27, 2019. It was the largest military sports event ever to be held in China, with nearly 10,000 athletes from over 100 countries competing in 27 sports. Wuhan China was, as we now believe, the source of our current global COVID-19 outbreak.
Whether you think it is a "conspiracy" or not, that is all certainly coincidental, to say the least.

"Why didn't I hear about any of this?"
That's an excellent question, and one that likely has multiple answers. For starters, how much do you really pay attention? Where do you get your news from? Do you research things you hear or just accept them on hearsay? Critical thinking skills are paramount in making sense of the chaos unfolding all around us.
As I mentioned before, I can tell you that I personally know multiple people who had no clue whatsoever about the riots in Hong Kong last year. As you read this, you may be one of them. And it may seem like something that is happening far away, and "could never happen here." Or you may have been aware of it but just that it was happening. But please, consider for a moment: millions of average citizens risked their lives and safety in the streets of Hong Kong for months on end, fighting police and military, and transforming the city they lived in into a warzone. WHY? Why would people do something like that? Regardless of their motivations, that many people were banding together to fight for something they believed in. And that is worth considering.
It's not really your fault though that you may not catch wind of all this news. The "mainstream media" that you hear about all the time deliberately controls information - downplaying threats and overreacting to silly things - in order to make sure that you hear the version of the news that they want you to hear.
Did you know that only 6 corporations control 90% of the media In America? That number is reduced from 50 companies in the 80's. And literally all the news you see on TV, at the very least, is 100% owned and controlled by these companies. Lately, distrust is growing for cable news networks, and many people turn to their local hometown station for trusted news. The problem with that though is that your hometown station is probably owned by Sinclair Media, one of the most powerful broadcast networks in the country that you've never heard of.
Please watch this very brief video, illustrating the chokehold that Sinclair Media maintains over your nightly local news broadcast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWLjYJ4BzvI
Of course, not every piece of news is pre-programmed but a lot is. The real news is out there, but sometimes you have to look a little deeper than the infographics on TV news. Even if information is being directed from the top down, the boots on the ground tend to be passionate people with a variety of interests and agendas, and they are still doing their best to do real journalism despite corporate oversight.
Think of those who are directing the information as steering an impossibly massive ship with a rudder. You can slowly adjust the course of direction, however it is slow to react. If you want to stop, you have to start thinking about stopping wayyy ahead of time. And similarly, once it gets underway, it is then influenced by an inertia all its own. Micro controls and adjustments aren't really possible.
Our society is this giant ship. There are 8 billion people on this earth - that is 8000 million. An incomprehensible number that grows rapidly every day. As civilization grows and advances, so does our medicine, our technology, our cultural norms. These are all natural processes that are necessary to manage an increasing number of societies all around the globe. And many of the advances we're making have exciting potential benefits for humanity, although as with all tools, they also inherently possess the potential for abuse.
Here are some other things happening in society right now, some you may be aware of and many you may not:
There is an interesting chicken or egg relationship between science fiction and real world science. Sci-fi writers are inspired by the real science of the day, then they apply their creativity to imagine what might be in the future. Young scientists encounter these fantastical ideas and think they are worth pursuing, and then set about to make them a reality, and the cycle continues.
Futuristic concepts are then preempted and introduced through the media to the conscious mind, as we include them in books, movies, TV, video games, and more. Eventually we start seeing headlines of these new technologies and developments happening in other places, usually Japan and China first due to their prevalence in the industrial and technological sectors of our global economy.

New dai explainer website aimed for beginners

As promised a couple of weeks ago, I created a simple, minimal consumer-facing explainer site for Dai. The idea is to explain the very basics to a crowd that is likely not a crypto expert, in other words - not people who are likely to own ETH and feel comfortable with opening a CDP.
I created a couple of websites; what's there now is just a first step but hopefully already helpful:
It's a free resource. I wanted to share this here in hope the community finds it useful. Feedback is of course welcome :)
Longer background and notes follow if you're interested:
I originally wanted to create a fiat on/off ramp for Dai, but since I didn't see a way to make it a viable business (I want the fees to be minimal), I figured I'd at least create a community resource to promote Dai.
Please feel free to write me:
Some ideas I have for the future:
I considered making this open source, but since I have no idea how I'm going to evolve this in the future - perhaps it'd be a viable business someday - it feels unfair to encourage anyone to contribute to content that may end up being used by a business. I do promise this resource will always be ethical, honest and to the benefit of the community - but that does not preclude it being a business someday... Or not. Lol.
Feedback welcome! Please remember, this is a project worked on my free time, not a money-making endeavor. Hopefully it's still helpful. Thank you :)

2019 should be the year that you start your food business... Here's how (Mini-AMA all weekend)

So you love to eat. No kidding! You need to eat to live. So does everyone else. Starting a food business is fun, stressful, and it's a blast when someone you have no clue who they are likes what you made.
You have a burning desire to start a hot sauce / juice / beverage / cookie / baked goods / bitcoin gummy bear company. Basically if someone wants to put it in their mouth, you have an idea for it. So let's get to it. Break it down, from start to finish (lol, it's never done).
WARNING: This may seem as some what self-promoting, but the only thing I will say now is that I started a 3PL shipping company specifically for food items. No links to it, but you can check my post history, but I'll save you the time. I used to be a web / app developer, got tired of the grind with trying to get clients to pay, got tired, bought a food truck with ZERO experience (seriously, my first event I bought 300 loaves of bread. Used 4.5. It was pretty comical and family / friends ate sourdough for WEEKS). I brought the food truck up, had the truck, a pop-up restaurant on Las Vegas Blvd., got an offer to sell the physical truck and book of business, took it, and kept the name rights. Now I'm using my skills both in tech and food to streamline and help foodpreneurs. Take this with whatever grain of salt you want.
Also, to state real quick, DO NOT PM ME QUESTIONS... I am here to open things up so everyone can learn, so the next person looking how to start up a hot sauce company gets relevant information and not "Sent you a PM." I'm gonna be around all weekend, and want to help everyone. I'll try and make responses as detailed / personalized as I can. The more info you post, the more I can help.
Part 1: You have an idea - Great - Treat it like a start-up, because it is
Food can be unsexy. Kitchens are hot, you burn yourself, you get covered in grease, you slip on stainless steel floors (true), and every once in a while theres some knife cuts. BUT, when you know that you just bought a $20 case of potatoes (50 lb) and are selling french fries for $6 for like 3oz of potatoes, your fave words become "Would you like fries with that?"
Key 1 - Know your numbers. Go shopping. You already have your idea, so go shopping. Make a test recipe at home, solely for the purpose of cost analysis. Jump on google sheets, and list EVERY ingredient on your list, and then look at other things, which I call hidden costs.
Visible Costs - Recipe ingredients, packaging, labeling Hidden Costs - How long does it take you to cook / bake / make (labor time), how long do you need to cook it (oven wear and tear, gas, electric for mixer, etc)
You can have a ton of hidden costs beyond just the actual ingredients, and these often get overlooked. If you plan on growing the business, get a friend and your phone and take pictures of HOW YOU WANT IT DONE along each step. Create the "brand" manual for your food / baked good / sauce, etc. Is the hot sauce supposed to be chunky? Is it supposed to be smooth? Are the cookies supposed to be a 30% shade of brown for crispness, and how long did you leave it in the oven for? Those should ALL be documented. You have the time now, and you should be doing it.
Key 2 - Find your suppliers, and find about discounts
You know what you need, and retail might not be the cheapest, or it could be. Play the sales. If you are making a cookie that uses bananas, can you take advantage of price matching at Walmart vs a restaurant supply store to get a better deal and cheaper ingredients? As a smaller company / maker, this should be a good idea, as it will help you create your MVP much cheaper.
Part 2: For the love of everything holy use google to find about your licensing requirements. (I won't do this for you as part of the AMA, just an FYI).
Everyone seems to get tied up with "Can I make this soup / cookie / hot sauce." The short answer is yes, you can, and you can test it legally. It'll take a few dollars, but it's worth it because of the access you can get.
  • Start with your local city or county health department. As you can see from my name, I'm in Vegas. Southern Nevada Health District manages all of the food. They will handle the licensing for food establishments and producers. If you need some Google help, search "[my city] health department]" "[my county] health department]" and if that search returns unfruitful, then search for "[my city] cottage food laws" "cottage food laws [my city / my county]" because small producers will 90% of the time be allowed to create small batches of what are considered "non-hazardous foods" in a home kitchen with little to no oversight. WHAT THIS MEANS: You will most likely be able to bake cookies, cupcakes, make a hot sauce, MAYBE a soup, basically anything that is heated / cooked and can be left out and still be fine. There is almost zero chance your sushi delivery service will be allowed. Fun fact, you cannot serve raw bacon, but under some cottage food laws, cooked bacon is fine because it is turned into a "jerky" classification. So you need to read. I'm not a lawyer, I just like paperwork. Don't be an idiot.
  • Licensing of some sort will be a key part of you starting to get out there. Theres a semi-good chance you can sell on FB, to friends family, at a school bake sale, or even through Etsy / your own online shop without getting any kind of official letter or licensing requirements. SWAT isn't coming because you're selling grandmas cookies on Etsy, so breathe and relax. If you go to a craft show, farmers market, etc, that is when the licensing comes into play, but putting that time and effort / money into it will put you lightyears ahead of everyone else doing it out of their house. Also, fees tend to be pretty low, so you can test your idea from SOMEONE WHO IS EXCHANGING MONEY FOR YOUR GOODS AND DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR FEELINGS. Everyones family / spouse / friends won't really be too keen to tell you "Yo dawg, this is garbage sauce / cupcake / icing / soup" so gathering feedback on what works cheaply before you use student loans on your hot sauce idea is a good thing. Few dollars up front to keep you from doing something dumb.
  • If you are going to go through the trouble of going through licensing to go to a farmers market, etc., then please, child, have a seat and start collecting feedback. Make your product better. It's not hard. "Hey, free half cookie for an email for a survey, and when we launch, we will email you a 30% off coupon." It's not hard, survey money and google forms are free. Mailchimp is free for small accounts. Do the work, otherwise throw your money away at a strip club.
Part 3: Liability and the business
You've now established that grandma wasn't lying to you, and your bacon jerky business is viable, and you're starting to see an increase in orders. Here's what to do next, now that you've "proven the concept" beyond people who will lie to you.
  • Get an LLC / Corp. Use something like Gust Launch, Clerky, or Stripe Atlas. <--- Use google. No links. Time to use your big boy pants. Open a new tab. An LLC / Corp will allow you to set up a business bank account, so when something goes wrong (it will), you can separate your personal life from the business. It's less than $1,000, and worth every penny.
  • Get a business bank account. Credit unions are dope, but big banks work too. Also, cash is fine, but the more credit cards you process, the better. Different schools of thought on this, I just like not having to deal with cash. Some banks charge you a cash handling fee over a certain cash deposit limit (true story). I found a trick to get around this. Go to a check cashing / payday loan place, buy a money order (free usually), then deposit the money order. It's not cash. Just my $.02.
  • BUY BUSINESS INSURANCE.... It's cheap. We paid like $100 a month for $500k in coverage if memory serves me right, and scaled up based on what the client needed through umbrella policies. Our truck insurance for business was like $300 a month on the commercial vehicle. You're dealing with food, and people can get sick. Just do it. When it saves your ass down the road, message me and you can buy me a 2 for $3 Rockstar from 7-11 as a thank you.
  • WTF are you actually selling is a big thing, and regulations will play a pretty big part of this, because it may fall under some OTHER, LARGER authority. There was a post recently for someone who wanted to repackage cheese as part of a cheese of the month box. Bro, FDA and USDA are all over that. There are several agencies I would never want to run afoul of, FBI, IRS, SEC, and FDA. Seriously, you'll get smacked harder than a toddler falling out of a shopping cart if you anger any of those agencies. Use Google. Heres an example. Friend of mine wanted to start a meal prep company, and wanted to do fresh juices. Seems simple because fresh juice places are everywhere right? Not. According to FDA regulations, even for small producers, any part of a "fresh juice" derived from "any part of the fresh vegetable / fruit" was supposed to be handled and cared for according to HCAAP and be pasteurized. Now, fun fact.... Making fresh juice "to order" does not fall under these categories because it would be intended for "immediate consumption." So as long as the meal prep guys made food ahead of time, but only made the juice and bottled it same day, it would fall under these guidelines, and wouldn't be tied to a whole host of regulations and expense. Leave it overnight? Nahh, can't do it. Same day? Totally fine. LEARN TO READ, BECAUSE A SMALL CHANGE COULD SAVE YOU. I've already decided I wouldn't do good in prison, so I don't want to go to jail.
  • You'll need a corporate structure and an EIN most likely for official licenses and for tax reporting. If you're selling online, something like TaxJar is a godsend. You'll need this also if you connect to your POS system to get paid and make that monnnaaayyyyyyy....
  • Something that I've seen brought up here countless times is "well I'm getting busy but my mom / wife / grandma needs to cook in the kitchen," or the good problem to have, "I'm busy with orders because the local news station picked it up and I can't make it fast enough." You're going to want to start investigating what are called "commissary kitchens" or "rentable commercial kitchens" and again, use the googles. [my city / county] commissary kitchens. There are a ton in almost every major city (except Vegas, dunno why). Or search for "kitchens for rent by the hour." You'll get access to larger / better equipment, usually rentable all-in by the hour, so it'll help you plan and budget, because earlier you did all the recipe and timing cards so you know how long it will take (see, I'm not a complete idiot).
Part 4: Launching
HOOOLLLLYYYYYYYYY SHHHHHIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTT..... You're ready to go big time, and are listening to "All I do is win" on repeat on your speakers and standing in your front yard shooting your not-a-flamethrower in the sky. Some things you should start to think about:
  • Branding is big. Have you secured the .com? You need to. There are different schools of thought on if different TLD's are okay. I say no, personally, and I won't pick a name if the .com isn't available. Work on a decent label or branding sticker. Packaging is key as well. For bottles, check out SKS Bottle. For boxes check out U-Line. You might be able to find someone cheaper locally, because shipping is a huge expense of heavy boxes / packaging (supplier to you). Check out StickerMule, Lightning Labels, or google "label suppliers." If you want the non-shiny labels, look for "matte" labels.
  • Social will be major. Not only for being able to launch your own brand, but if you ever decide to go into retail, or distribute. It's common sense in this day and age. I will tell you, that if you have a product that is consumer based, show them how to use it. Hot sauce? Start making recipes and posting them with your hot sauce. Cookies? Show different ways cookies can be given as gifts. Interact with people celebrating things. Pay attention to holidays. Bacon jerky? Go to a NASCAR event, biker rally, take pics, and interact. Give samples away. Go where your target market is.
  • Distribution. Take a listen to "Major Distribution" by 50 Cent. Great hype song. Or Go Getter by Young Jeezy. You're now the Columbians trying to get your hot sauce crack into as many hands as you can. You're selling online, spending hours packaging each bottle with care, printing labels, while you child is crying and your wife is burning rice for the 6th night in a row. Your hands smell like Kraft packaging. Bubble wrap is your defacto blanket....
STOP READING HERE BECAUSE THIS IS SEMI-SELF PROMOTIONAL BECAUSE I AM GIVING TIPS RELATED TO WHAT I DO. LOOK FOR THE NEXT SET OF ALL CAPS TO SKIP THIS ENTIRELY.
A regular distributor will take your product, buy it, and resell it. They may add it to their product catalog, maybe a "hey, Massive Diablo Hot Sauce is a new sauce we are carrying, want to try it?" "Nahhhhh..." "Okay, normal hot sauce it is then." You are the owner of your hot sauce. You're the owner of your packaged cookies. You're the owner of your gluten free, purple yam potato chip. You care the most. You can go the traditional distribution route, and it can happen, but for someone to want to pick you up, you need traction. That's where a food 3PL comes into play (which is a grossly underserved market imho). You pay to rent space in a warehouse, usually by the pallet or half pallet size, pay monthly, and then you pay each order sent out. You need to make sure the numbers work for this.
You're now shipping orders more efficiently, and most likely taking advantage of their shipping discounts because of volume. Straight forward, we plug our own account details into ShipStation for FedEx and get even better rates because of the volume we do. The more you ship, if you have a loading dock, etc. all play into your rates.
Now, you've offloaded the task of shipping to someone else, and are free to focus on sales, growing the business. If you move to a co-packer (more below), your co-packer is sending your stuff to us in bulk, and we are shipping, basically moving you out of the equation almost entirely. You'll need someone who tracks lot numbers, shipment dates, and more in case of a recall, and who got what in an inventory management system (we do, hence the tech background). Temp, shelf life, FIFO, expiration dates, and breakage all are things you need to consider when working with someone.
OKAY YOU CAN KEEP READING NOW THAT YOU'VE SKIPPED THE SELF PROMOTION (KIND OF) PART
  • Co-packers will save your sanity, your relationships, and keep you from smelling like chocolate chips or ghost peppers on date night. Because you've done your starards manual, and updated it based on tweaks, you can start searching for a co-packer. Google the meaning. It's not hard. Don't ask me what a co-packer is. Youre going to want to look at things like capacity, non-disclosure agreements, secrecy, length in business, and packaging capabilities. I know of one place here in Vegas that will do cookies, in different sizes, and will package several different ways. Not everyone will. Look for things like turn around time, lead time, graphics capabilities, and more. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but if I think of it, see the comments.
Congrats!!!!!!! You've now made the next Tabasco, Auntie Ann's Pretzels, Chips Ahoy, Sriracha, Fresh Squeezed Juice conglomerate. I expect to see all of you on store shelves, and if this helped, send me some food. I'll eat it, or my girlfriend will.
Quesadillas are sandwiches. Fight me. See you in the comments.

Of Wolves and Weasels - Day 145 - DOGE4DOGE - Rebuilding the Hype Machine

Hey all! GoodShibe here!
One of the failures of DOGE4NASCAR -- one that, sadly, wasn't even our fault -- was that we had done all this amazing work to get attention onto us and our coin...
But there was no easy, simple way for the people who found us to 'impulse buy' some Dogecoins for themselves.
When we talk about Services that we need, having a fast, safe, easy, reliable way to get your hands on Dogecoins is absolutely crucial as we move forward.
I know there are some options in the works, and I know that there are a few sellers on Dogemarket who are legit. But we need something fast, clean, professional - something non-threatening, something that inspires confidence for first-timers and yet, can handle volume.
If that sounds like a tall order, well, it is - but that's our next step toward the moon. And the first one to figure that out, get that up and running and stable? Enjoy your profits, because you've earned them.
For the entire month of June, we're going to be working hard to get our Bootstrap Economy up and running, getting Shibes to step up and help other Shibes for Dogecoins, get coins transferring amongst ourselves rather than sold on exchanges for other currencies.
In order to make that work, we need to re-tool our DOGE4NASCAR hype machine.
Did someone you hired do amazing work for you? Let us know in the sub!
Share their creations with us! Share their info with us! Did you have an amazing experience thanks to another Shibe? Share it with us - photos, videos, you name it!
Make us jealous for you! Make us want to live vicariously through you! ;D)
One of the most important things we can do to help make Dogecoin truly soar is to offer items and experiences that you can ONLY buy with Dogecoin.
I asked in one of my last posts if you'd pay Dogecoin to learn how to surf?
That one question got me a ton of PMs!
People are willing to pay Dogecoins for all sorts of experiences!
Imagine getting to be on track, shaking Josh Wise's hand, wishing him luck in person, just before the race. Sitting, track-side, just a few feet away from the pit-crew - in the heart of the race itself.
Would you pay for that kind of experience?
Imagine getting to hang out with some talented musician Shibes and cut your first record! Or go to an exclusive, Shibe-only concert? Maybe we can get FoxFaction and some other Shibes to band together and put something together?
Would you pay Dogecoins for that?
Would you invest in coins to have on hand, just in case an opportunity like that popped up?
We need to get fellow Shibes not just 'excited' about building our economy, but actively thinking about and searching for ways to help!
The good news is that a lot of speculators and people who 'thought they were investing in something like Bitcoin' have now left the building. Which means that those cheap coins that are sitting on the market are there waiting to be bought up by Shibes. By people who will hold them and use them and tip them.
I've been buying up what I can when I can (not a rich Shibe, sadly) but there's still lots left out there for the rest of you.
The heart of the matter, of DOGE4DOGE, really, is this: If we can't inspire ourselves - the people most personally vested in Dogecoin's success - to make Dogecoin work as a currency, then how can we go to others and expect them to join in with us?
We're a fun place and all -- and no one could ever deny it -- but we're also a currency. In order to be an actual currency, we need to be able to use our tips for more than just tipping. All those people we've sent coins to? They need to be able to see Dogecoin as something useful as well as fun.
Something that, when spent, they want more of.
And that's what we're working toward this month!
DOGE4DOGE is about spending our time and brilliance and creativity focused entirely on us. It's about Shibes taking the power back for ourselves, putting our coins in our hands and using them.
And THAT's how we're going to build the foundation for a much, much larger economy, together.
But it starts here, with you, with us.
Today!
It's 7:34AM EST and we're at 80.57% of DOGEs found. Our Global Hashrate is seeing a huge spike right now, from ~41 to ~48 Gigahashes per second and our Difficulty is also spiking from ~634 to ~827.
If you can mine, now's a great time to get out there and get some DOGEs!
As always, I appreciate your support!

DragonEx Roadshow Recap

DragonEx Roadshow Recap
In support of our new partnership, DragonEx Exchange invited Kambria Team members to participate in an exclusive online roadshow with both the DragonEx English and Chinese-speaking communities.
The event featured Kambria community managers Annie Wang (CH) and William Ryan (EN). Both sessions were focused and very active. Here is a recap of the conversation with William in the English channel; for clarity, the original text has been lightly edited for grammar and spelling.
Do you have any idea about Kambria? Today’s roadshow is mainly about Kambria’s project progress. and its future planning.
I understand the bulk of the conversation is going on in the DragonEx Chinese channel, but in case there are any English speakers here who are interested, we were recently listed on DragonEx. I met the team in May in New York City, and was very impressed with their professionalism. They are awesome people to know, and I am even more excited to now be working with DragonEx. They are a great exchange!
I wanna know, how is Kambria different from other AI projects?
Kambria is an open innovation platform designed to cut down and drastically reduce the time and cost it takes to innovate robotics, AI, and other frontier technologies. Kambria allows for innovators to collaborate on every aspect of the innovation process. So a company can host a bounty to utilize developers to help them build their ideas. This also allows for innovators to modularize their ideas and allow other innovators to utilize their work, and earn KAT in the process.
Can the Kambria project run without blockchain?
Kambria’s Open Innovation Platform is designed around the KAT token. It technically could work without a blockchain, but it likely would not because we all know that incentives are the basis for the work that most people do. So we use KAT to power the network, pay bounties, pay developers, companies, and innovators who contribute to the network.
The best way to achieve this is to use a decentralized blockchain with smart contracts. No one would contribute without incentives. That is the backbone to any healthy economy. That is why we believe we do need a token.
But how advanced is the project in terms of progress?
Currently, the features that we are focusing on are building out Github support to allow developers to import the githubs to build out the Kambria codebase, which will be utilized in the Kambria codebase, the backbone of the platform. Additionally, we are creating innovation hubs across the world that will allow roboticists and AI developers to come in and innovate new products.
What if a big company copies Kambria? Are there any barriers to competition?
There are currently no other companies who are doing what we are doing. Our platform encompasses every single aspect of the innovation process from concept, to design, to manufacturing, to sourcing materials, to production, to delivery. We will also not open source all of our intellectual property. Because of our experience with OhmniLabs, Kambria’s sister company, we have discovered ways to build robots using 3-D printing far cheaper than most have heard of.
Could you please introduce your team members to us?
Yes. My name is William, and I am the American Community Manager, and I have with me Annie Wang, who is our Chinese Community Manager.
Let me get you some info on the rest of the team. Let’s start with the top :)
Dr. Thuc Vu — Co-Founder & CEO — AI & Game Theory Dr. Thuc is a serial entrepreneur, with multiple company acquisitions, the last one by Google. He has deep expertise in game theory, tournament design and multi-agent systems. He earned his Ph.D. from Stanford and BS from Carnegie Mellon, both in computer science. Dr. Thuc is a social entrepreneur in Vietnam, involved in several community projects.
Dr. Thuc Vu, first of all, is just incredible to work with. He is the nicest man, but he’s also very talented. He is also a very generous person who sows back into the communities around him. He has created several foundations in the world to “give back” to people, including his very own VietSeeds Foundationin Vietnam that helps poor Vietnamese children get a great college education. He sold one of his companies to Google, and then created OhmniLabs, which is Kambria’s sister company. You can visit the OhmniLabs.com website for more information.
Here’s a pic of our founders with the OhmniLabs robot.
Our CTO, Jared Go, met Dr. Thuc Vu in college. They both attended Stanford University and Carnegie Mellon together.
Jared Go — Co-Founder & CTO — Robotics — Jared is an avid maker and roboticist, previously CTO and founding member at a networks startup. He has extensive experience in blockchain, AI, real-time graphics, VR, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering. Jared is a Stanford Graduate Fellow, and has a BS in computer science from Carnegie Mellon University.
Tingxi Tan — Co-Founder & CPO — Blockchain & Cloud Computing — Tingxi has a background in cloud computing, network infrastructure and distributed system design. He has been active in Crypto Investment since 2010. He was responsible for building the global scale cloud infrastructure at a networks startup. He graduated from MSc Computer Science U of Calgary and BSc Applied Math Western University.
Dr. Tra Vu — COO — Operations & Infrastructure — Tra has a background in Financial and Civil Engineering. She earned her Master’s in Financial Engineering and her PhD in Transportation Planning & Engineering from the NYU Tandon School of Engineering. Tra currently teaches at her alma mater and was responsible for leading her previous company in designing the first city-wide Transit Signal Priority system in New York City.
Tingxi, Dr. Tra Vu, and Jared are also just fantastic people to work with. The team is not only wildly talented, but also very pleasantly nice. It’s refreshing to see.
Is artificial intelligence a moral issue? How can I overcome this problem?
I believe it could be; however, it is up to us how we build such technologies. In our open collaboration system, everyone has the ability to solve this problem. If you want to solve it, you simply can participate in building it ethically.
Is the Kambria Innovation Platform open now in public?
Yes. The Open Innovation Platform was soft-launched in September 2018, and we are preparing for a full release this year. You can check out the platform here: https://app.kambria.io
I think artificial intelligence is a big trend: very good. Is there a potential market now? What are the plans for the Kambria project in the future?
AI is one of the fastest growing technologies in the frontier space. We already have hundreds of developers ready to begin working on the Kambria Open Innovation Platform, which is why we are so eager to finish our full launch of the platform, as well as our codebase. We are not far away. The full launch will be this year.
In addition, we are opening five innovation hubs across the globe, the first in Silicon Valley, California. We also working with major universities, including Stanford and Carnegie Mellon, to host hackathons in collaboration with the International Data Engineering and Science Association (IDEAS). Additionally, Thuc created the VietAI Alliance, which is dedicated solely to AI development. There will be several more of these that work with governments and universities in many different countries
I’m just a robotics engineer, but with no knowledge in Blockchain. How can I manage your platform? In our case, we have a team of robotics engineers and AI programmers, but they have no knowledge about Blockchain.
Follow up question: Do you have an infrastructure already in place?
The great news is that many roboticists such as yourself are not familiar with blockchain, and that’s OK! You don’t need to know how the engine of a car works in order to be able to drive it. It’s the same idea. Much of the blockchain underpinnings will be taken care of for you so that you can focus on innovation. Blockchain will primarily serve as the payment vehicle for bounties, services, and other functions on the network, such as staking coins, but the actual building of the product will be very familiar to you.
We do have an infrastructure ready and proven to be HIGHLY effective. Because of our experience with OhmniLabs, we have a “tried and true” method that we will allow other projects, such as yours, to utilize, and not just ours, but everyone else’s that uses our platform. It truly is open innovation for everyone.
I hope that the Kambria project will be carried forward in the future. I want to ask if the Kambria project is an artificial intelligence platform. Can Kambria help people with disabilities? They really need this project.
Yes!!! We love this. One of the verticals that we are focusing on is healthcare. Also, we build consumer robots, and robotic arms, which are very important for helping disabled people. It’s one of the use cases we are most passionate about. That is what robotics is for after all — making human life more comfortable and easier.
One of our robots (potentially) helped save an elderly woman’s life who had fallen. Her family was able to find her quickly and easily, preventing any further damage.
Is the Kambria Platform open now in public?
The platform is open to the public. Currently, you can vote for bounties, hackathons, buy robotic development kits, and explore the codebase, but there is much, much more coming in the short term this year. You may find it at https://app.kambria.io
Is Kambria currently based on ETH, and has Kambria considered the subsequent rise of the public chain.
Yes, we are based on ETH, but we are blockchain agnostic. If ETH, for any reason, cannot scale, we will look for a more functional chain.
Yes, ETH has been criticized for its slow processing speed. Has the Kambria project considered EOS?
We have considered EOS, and that would certainly be on our radar as one of the potential chains to move to, if necessary.
Could you tell us the history of Kambria, I am very interested in it!
Surely! Our founders started a robotics company in 2015. It was built upon the premise that to really accelerate adoption of robotics in the homes, a new type of company was needed. Being far away from home ourselves, they could relate to the need for affordable robots that bring families closer. So they set out to design robots with modular components, and utilize lean, toolless manufacture. To close the cost gap, they were ultra-focused on iteration speed. Reusability and integration were the cornerstones of their fabrication process, allowing for orders of magnitude, less capital spent, and a fraction of the development time.
Being able to foster an open collaborative ecosystem, where every contribution can easily be shared, manufactured, and implemented, will be revolutionary. Companies can benefit from the collective contribution from the community to build custom applications without having to employ teams of PhDs. End users can enjoy the higher quality of life potentially afforded by more available robot products and services. A combination of reduced costs, cutting-edge technologies, and swift delivery will spur rapid adoption of the Kambria platform by companies, developers, and manufacturers. This cycle of innovation will pave the way for the next wave of robots to provide immense value for people across the world.
Ohmni has achieved good results in the market, and the architecture behind it is indispensable. However, OhmniLabs development was not easy. Built from scratch, the establishment of laboratories, and the search for supply chain production, robotic startups was very difficult. In the difficult process of exploring Ohmni, an idea gradually formed: since there are so many barriers in the field of robot development, why not create an open platform where development, purchase, research, investment, and other needs coexist? It not only brings together talents from all sides but also promotes the development of robotics. In that thought proces, Kambria was born!
We named the platform Kambria, after the Cambrian Explosion, 500 million years ago, when an accelerated evolutionary rate gave rise to biodiversity and abundance. We believe this platform will be the catalyst for a similar explosion in intelligent robotics.
How many people are there in the Kambria project? Is there a blockchain related person?
Yes, our CPO is Tingxi Tan, has extensive knowledge in blockchain development. Additionally, we have a wide array of blockchain and full-stack developers. In total, our full-time staff is 20 people and growing. There are also many part-time employees as well! You can find most of them on our LinkedIn page: https://www.linkedin.com/company/kambria/
While we are technically a global company, our two main “home bases” are in Silicon Valley and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, where much of the team is from. OhmniLabs is also in Silicon Valley.
Our advisor list is also quite extensive. I will list them here:
Prof. Manuela Veloso — AI & Robotics — Manuela Veloso is the Herbert A. Simon University Professor in the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. Professor Veloso will be the Robotics and AI judge on the Kambria platform.
Simon Seojoon Kim — HASHED — Simon Seojoon Kim is CEO and founding partner of Hashed, a leading crypto fund based in South Korea. He is a Blockchain evangelist and organizer of Hashed Lounge, a premier Blockchain Seoul meetup community.
Loi Luu — Kyber Network — Loi Luu is a researcher working on cryptocurrencies, smart contract security and distributed consensus algorithms. He is also a regular invited speaker at Bitcoin and Ethereum workshops such as DevCon2, EDCON. Loi believes in the force of the Ethereum and Blockchain technology.
Roger Lim — NEO Global Capital — Roger Lim is an experienced angel and blockchain investor. He is the Founding Partner of NEO Global Capital and an advisor for projects like Bluzelle, Qlink, CoinFi, Thekey, Tomocoin, 0Chain, Switcheo, Open Platform, and nOS.
Long Vuong — Tomochain — Long Vuong is CEO and founder of Tomochain, a public blockchain infrastructure providing an innovative solution to the scalability problem with the Ethereum blockchain. He is often invited as guest speaker of many reputable blockchain events around the globe. Long and Tomochain will also be partnering with Kambria to develop an educational certification program in blockchain and AI.
George Li — WeTrust — George is an ex-Googler who previously co-founded CottonBrew, a Stanford StartX computer vision company. George has helped connect us with influencers and market movers in the crypto space.
May I know some recent news about this project?
In addition to our new Innovation Hubs, we launched our KAT token in December. It is currently listed on DragonEx, KuCoin, and Bitmart Exchanges. We also recently hosted an incredible event this last November where the Winklevoss Twins, and Joe Lonsdale, and several other high-level venture capitalists were in attendance. I will get you the video! :D
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8y4MxyAvTc&feature=youtu.be — Enjoy! I know we did.
The Vietnamese government also attended our November event called Innovation, Community & Impact. It was a very big deal. We wrote several articles recapping the event if you’d like to read about it. I will drop the links from our latest post that contains all of our best top ten articles for last year.
https://medium.com/kambria-network/kambria-2018-beyond-9820242c86c1
Within that article, you can find a ton of information about our project.
Great, I hope that the Kambria project will be carried forward in the future.
Thank you! We want to change the world, and we are unique enough to do it. There is nothing in the world like Kambria. We aim to make frontier technologies WAY cheaper and easier to build. An estimated 85% percent of the work being done is considered to be “wasted effort.” Because much of the work is done in silos, that means almost everyone is doing “double work.”
We can modularize everything and allow the different pieces to be applied, thus saving a huge amount of time in the development process. Why create something from scratch when someone else has already perfected it?
Do you build great motors? AI logic? Robotic arms? You can allow others to use your innovations to build theirs, and earn KAT, promote innovation, get paid, and collaborate on a number of different ideas.
“We aim to make frontier technologies WAY cheaper and easier to build.” Yes, this sentence is very similar to what Xiaomi, the technology giant of our country said so that everyone can enjoy the fun of technology.
That’s what it's all about. Improving the quality of life so that we can focus on the more important things that life brings. Great questions by the way. You’ve been a pleasure to speak with this entire time.
We expect that you can change the world through artificial intelligence + blockchain. Thanks, William and Kambria.
You are very welcome. Please feel free to join our Telegram Channels. We do have a Chinese Channel as well. We’d love to see you there. I am going to post our channels. If you have any more questions, feel free to ping me or DM me directly. My inbox is always open.
We’d like to thank not only DragonEx Exchange for having us, but also to all of the community members who asked us such great questions!
[THE END]

Project Blockchain Valley

PROJECT BLOCKCHAIN VALLEY
My name is Morgan Rockwell, I am CEO of Bitcoin Kinetics Inc. Now founder of Kinetics - Blockchain, Automation & Energy. I created the first Bitcoin Operated Service Machine to allow Bitcoin to be used in the real world in all machines & businesses. We are rapidly expanding & growing into new territories, industries and concepts to help build the Bitcoin & Blockchain based industries into a competitive & profitable environment. We have began the process of issuing equity on the NYSE in New York City. We have purchased a new building to house the buildings office & factory. We have made several partnerships with many Bitcoin Business Leaders, Ethereum, Micro-controller & Chip Makers, DIY companies and many more important players in the new technology industries. We now need your help before we are forced to ask help from the banking sector, tyrants or billionaires..
We now need 10000 Bitcoins to create the greatest Bitcoin Based Economy the world will ever see, including the first Bitcoin Town... Ill give you keys to the company, all of the equity, I do not want a dollar.
There will be always be a loan offer out there for the purchase of the main street property of 1000 BTC for immediate purchase & payback with base interest rate of 15% on the 1000 BTC - giving 1150 BTC payback in 5 years or equivalent in USD value of equity in the corporation we are creating to be listed on the NYSE. When that loan contract is fulfilled by someone there will be another 1000 BTC loan contact available within 7 days for someone else to bid on. The bidding price will be based on a lower competitive interest rate and this will be done Over The Counter through personal communications.
We require an immediate range of 7000-10000 BTC to build the entire region into a fully functional Blockchain based industry zone. This will be self sustaining in regards to energy consumption & economic production. A am building partnerships with many smart people, strong businesses and influencers in industry to get these goals accomplished. I need the lending community, the Bitcoin community, the cryptocurrency communities to help make Blockchain Valley become a reality.
Anyone up for that offer? It would be able to change the world if you can contact me & send me that I have contracts ready and waiting.
This is where the future begins.
Along side that move a NEW company is created, to compete with the likes of Google, Apple, GE, Visa & CHASE. It will be called "KINETICS Inc".
Kinetics - Blockchain, Automation & Energy www.Kinetics.cc
KINETICS is facilitator of several Bitcoin & Blockchain projects including:
KINETICS is going to be incorporated in Delaware as a C Corporation. The fully functional business such as #BitcoinKinetics, #BitcoinAcademy & #Axiomity will be managed, funded and operated by KINETICS Inc.
KINETICS Inc & Bitcoin Kinetics Inc will both be located at our new shop in Upper Lake, CA in Lake County.
9450 Main St, Upper Lake, CA 95485
This buildings rent is $800 per month, to be reduced from $200,000 price for full cash purchase of property. I have plans to purchase the entire building full cash in the next 90 days, until then i'm moving in 7/13/2014 SUN & paying rent to own for 90 days. I have been told I can purchase the entire block including over 20 different store fronts, garages, a bank, a post office, a saloon, a large antique shop, several window display store front shops and even large areas of land for crypto mining data centers, fields of solar panels & wind generators, as well as the fact that all of California's fresh water is within 2000 yards of the building in several lakes. There is over 100,000 sq ft of empty store & office spaces on the main street. All of it has been personally offered to me.
We are committed to partnering with #TeslaMotors to convert the old gas station into a Tesla Super Charger Station equipped with SuperChargers, solar power & a lounge to busy the drivers as they charge their vehicle. We will be creating a Bitcoin ATM friendly lounge where customers can purchase all things Bitcoin, Hardware & even use Bitcoins at all the local shops. Ill be putting www.CryptoCrates.com in one of the shops on the block giving the worlds first Bitcoin Record Store a physical location.
There are now many possibilities with this HUGE opportunity here before us all. We are in talks with #Ethereum and several lenders, venture capitalists, bankers & Bitcoin investors to make this dream of a physical Bitcoin world a reality. We can turn Upper Lake into the start of what will be the home of #BitcoinTOWN, a place where all Bitcoin Business will want to come and have their offices. Eventually growing into a "#BlockchainValley"
There is so much money involved & needed for this long term 100 year plan, In the next 10 years up to 10,000 BTC will be needed to pay:
If you build it, they will come.
There is much to be done, its is all the start of jobs, money & Bitcoins value going to the moon. Building something in the real world with Bitcoins lending technology.
I have over 15 years of construction, civil engineering, electrical engineering & business development. I am the best human on earth to get this mission accomplished and to get the job done. We are in a state ware Bitcoin is now legal tender, the time is NOW. I can make everything happen, i talk well, i don't sleep and work non stop until the goal is reached, i have networked with everyone from the rich to the poor, to the entire Bitcoin community. This is an opportunity to be within 1 1/2 hours of San Francisco and 2 hours from Sacramento. This deal with Tesla Motors gives me the ONLY charging station in this North California region giving the loop from San Francisco, Mendocino, & The i5 to Sacramento a complete loop allowing the Tesla vehicles to travel up into the Forest Area. This will bring HUGE revenue, HUGE partnerships & many many new Bitcoin users and Kinetics customers will all be flocking up from San Francisco to the new land of Bitcoin...
All of you should help us and ill personally make you a very rich Bitcoiner, and you will save the world from fiat, from centralization & from tyranny...
To purchase the main street property only need 1000 BTC as soon as possible with 1150 BTC payed back in 5 Years. That is a 15% payback on a 1000 BTC loan that can be bid on by lenders If you can even participate in this loan in fractions, partial or full, please contact us ASAP as moves need to be made immediately. This allows us to acquire the main drag of Main Street, Upper Lake, CA and all of its shops.
We will convert it into a Solar Roadway/SolarCity filled block, with Bitcoin ATMs on every corner, Bitcoin Laundromats, Bitcoin Bank, Bitcoin Friendly Shops, A Blockchain Node in every business, A Tesla Charging Station right in front of the 1920s original Gas Station, a Restaurant Called Satoshi's Grill, with 5 star Chefs already ready to join the team, a record and music shop that takes all crypto currency, The Bitcoin Academy giving a local education center for all to access the newest information, technologies and educators, a Coffee shop friendly to all things Bitcoin & The Blockchain, giving rise to Bitcoin Gift card usage, lounge environment with data center tools. The entire town will have a 4G tower system with the first going behind the Gas Station in the yard & FREE WIFI, LIFI & MESH networking covering the entire area.
We ask you the #Bitcoin Community for funding before we ever ask a Banker, so please help us before we are forced to go ask Goldman Sachs for fiat... The community can gather 1, 10, 100, 1000 or 10000 Bitcoins to make Bitcoin usable in all machines. As a loan of 15% would be very helpful to us and to you in circulating Bitcoin & funding this community venture.
Contact us if you are willing to support this new venture as time is of the essence, moves need to be made NOW, and your Bitcoin's future depends on people like us & you giving Bitcoin real world use. Help us bring the future into the now...
THE BITCOIN TOWN / BLOCKCHAIN VALLEY PLAN
These 10 Phases will take money, people, passion and motivation. Time will only get in the way if you don't become involved with both your Bitcoin, Your Mind, & Your Sweat, Blood & Tears. We will help make this a reality, but first comes capital, participants & the plan. We are all here to help grow into a better world, Bitcoin gives us that last chance for humanity to stand up and shake off its slack. If we can come together and show the world how this technology works in the real world, the planet will see, it will feel, it will hear and know Bitcoin as reality. Over night the world can change if we put out foot down, take a stand, and create the world as we see it to be. People are at war, starving and suffering in the most horrible ways, all I personally can do is fight the good fight with Bitcoin in my hand, there is a chance now for us to have sanctuary and a place to build our plan of attack from. We now have shelter, not just for Kinetics, but for the entire Bitcoin community of users, businesses & investors. You all now will have a safe and friendly place to live, work, shop, learn and grow...
I thank you for your time and your care for the world. Thank You.

To purchase the main street, we only need 1000 BTC Immediately with 1150 BTC payed back in 5 Years. That is a 15% payback on a 1000 BTC loan. If you can even participate in this loan in fractions, partial or full, please contact us ASAP as moves need to be made immediately.
Thank You.

Questions Answers
Have you read The Circle? If so, what did you think of it? I think the Circle is both brilliant and profound. I think the book will take its place alongside 1984 and Brave New World. It doesn't have much chance of happening, but it is a cautionary tale to keep us honest.
Can you paraphrase your argument against The Singularity? In short: Timing. Longer: it will happen but only be visible in retrospect. During the time, it will just seem like incremental change.
It seems like you spend a fair bit of time thinking about the future, probably just in general as well. Where's your day-to-day "thinking time" look like? Do you have a time scheduled during the day to stop writing/beekeeping/whatever and just think? Do you focus on a particular problem or idea to think about or just let your mind run wild? Considering your quantified self connection, have you found any useful tips for finding your most creative moments? I block out lots of time to 1) Read (books) 2) Think in silence 3) Sketch and doodle 4) Go for walks
Out of all the things you have done in your life, what are you the most proud of and why? Having three children who are now adults and not in jail.
What do you think contributed most to your success? No TV.
1.) How has the internet (or tech in general) of today surprised you compared to your expectations from the early days of Wired and the Well. 2.) What's your opinion of bitcoin? 3.) Do you think the maker movement and interest in all things cool tools is the start of a new personal manufacturing industry (similar to the PC revolution) or is it just for tinkerers and hobbyists? 4.) As a fellow spiritual person, I feel the silicon valley brand of transhumanist futurism (the dominant vision of the future for many techno-progressives) is too materialistic and devoid of what William James called 'religious experience'. Any thoughts on rational spirituality moving forward? 1) We did not really get how much of the web would be user generated. 2) The principles of Bitcoin (block chains, etc.) will be very disruptive. It makes money a type of communication instead of value. 3) I think makers will shift the manufacturing landscape. 4) I bet there will be new religions around technology, someday.
It seems you've been all over the world. I assume you're already living in your favorite place to live. But if you couldn't live there, what would be your second choice? Singapore. I am half Asian now and Singapore is one of the few cities in Asia I could imagine living in. It's vibrant, but still works, and it is far greener than you'd think. It's not Disneyland with the death penalty.
of all, thank you for taking the time to answer questions. I have been a reader of WIRED for quite a few years and love what you folks do! I would like to draw your attention to The Technocopia Project. We are a new Hackerspace in MA that is focused on fully automating sustainable manufacturing from the plants up. Build the tools that build all tools. Create an independent and sustainable source(s) of all required raw materials and energy. Refine these sustainably sourced raw materials into usable materials. Encapsulate these three parts into one integrated prototype factory unit, called "Prometheus". Use Prometheus to replicate itself. Distribute these child units to locally, and support them until they are self sustaining. Use the children to replicate themselves, distributing them nationally and globally. Enjoy relative global abundance, peace and prosperity. While on the surface this plan may seem far fetched, we can assure you that every piece of technology required by this plan to succeed has, in fact, already been invented and developed, in one form or another. The "only" thing we have to do is take all of these technologies and blend them together and implement them in a way that empowers individuals, families, and communities. My question is, how do you see automation of the workforce transitioning to post-scarcity(if at all)? Automation of work will create new scarcities while filling the world with plentitude in other ways. New scarcities will be such things as human attention, human relations, silence, errors, questions.
DO you believe the social media excess will lead to a luddite period soon? Are the make movements a sign of this? I see no evidence at all of a retreat in the luddite fashion. People will (and should) take vacations and sabbaticals from constant connection -- but leave forever -- not going to happen.
What is your favourite country in the world? Do you have a country in particular where you like to photograph? For a photographer India can't be beat, but its a tough country to travel in many ways.
As a radical techno-optimist, what do you think is something people believe technology can/will do that you think it can't? People often think technology will make their lives simpler. That's utopian.
Also, what's your favorite Christmas song? Favorite Christmas song: Michael Jackson (the kid) singing I saw mama kissing Santa Claus.
In a tweet, you once suggested that content we have today, say on Facebook and Twitter, will be gone in 25 or 50 years. Are you confident these companies will not be around and/or transition? Also, are you able to provide brief, clear, simple vision of how laypersons might expect to reliably store data in next 25 years? Thanks for consideration. It is very unlikely that ANY company at its peak today will be around in 50 years. They just don't have long lifespans.
I think one of us is confused about with the word "optimist" means. I am protopian, not utopian. I believe in progress, that things are getting better by a little bit. I don't believe that we can eliminate problems without introducing new ones.
Do you think we are tools of technologies or rather tools for "technium"? what do you think about "convivial" tools? can we reach conviviality with our modern view of technology that it should be faster and more powerful? what do you think about energy equity for automobiles and energy consuming? can we reach equity with the capital mentality of always selling faster and bigger cars? and for last what do you think about Telsa car? thank you sir for doing this AmA. I drove a prototype Tesla, and I was impressed by its power. It was almost scary. I think they'll work out the battery issues. I have no bet on Tesla, but I would bet on electric cars for the long term. In China, electric scooters are the norm.
What are the 2-3 movements in tech you're seeing right now that most interest you? Top of my head I'm guessing 1) Makers Movement 2) Screen Ecology 3) Quantified Self, but are there any more? 3D printing. E-money. Wearables.
I'm fascinated by your story on TAL about convincing yourself that you had six months to live. Shoulda been dead. How do you suggest someone adopt that mindset? Does that experience still affect your life today? Talk more about it, I'd love to hear more. I am not sure I would recommend this experiment. I am glad to have done it, but I didn't really choose to. That made it easier to do -- it was an assignment. But I do still go back to that point of having no regrets, of being fully ready (but not willing) to die. Reviewing my regrets is something I revisit every now and then.
Wikipedia sez: When he was 27 Kevin Kelly was a freelance photo journalist, and got locked out of his hostel in Jerusalem due to being late for a curfew. He slept on the supposed spot where Jesus was crucified, and in the morning had a religious experience. He decided to live as if he only had six months left to live. He went and lived peacefully with his parents, anonymously gave away his money, visited his friends, and came back home to "die" on the night of Halloween. True? True. I told the full story on the very first episode of This American Life, one they called Shoulda Been Dead.
A beard without a mustache? Please explain that unusual choice. When I first grew a beard after highschool (1971) the mustache bothered me to no end. So I shaved it and kept the beard.
Thoughts on Facebook? I don't understand how they will make money. But I said the same thing about Google when they started.
What do you think about human longevity? Will we break the 120-year barrier and live for hundreds of years? If yes, when? I am not expecting to live to 120. Like AI, I think this will take longer than we hope.
I spoke to you once about consciousness and psychedelics. Are you excited about tools (heart-rate, EEG, GSR, wearable devices in general) that purport to help make us more aware of our bodies and minds? In the short-term, what would you personally use, or desire to be created in this space? I am pro-info. While there are limits to what information can yield, I think we are far away from extracting all we can from measuring ourselves all the time.
Received my first copy of Cool Tools today. Brilliant book, been reading it over and over for 5 hours today. It will inspire my father, kids and my grand kids alike. Class job! Seems to be out of stock now before it got out of the USA, and the $999 speculators are now active. Any reprints planned? I have another 4 on order, 3 in the UK that were due 9th Jan, another 1 on Amazon USA for $57 inc shipping, currently awaiting new stock. Ps: cool that Louis Rossetto did a review on tires of all things. Guess he's the same Louis that started Wired back in 93? I did a reprint of Cool Tools which should be at Amazon soon. I am hoping their "temporarily out of stock" is just that, temporary.
Is it possible for the Technium to produce a technology that will destroy all other tech and its creators? Or is it inherently a good force that in aggregate does good? No one technology will rule them all, but cheap ubiquitous artificial intelligence WILL disrupt all other technologies.
I find it hard to be techno-optimistic. Humans seem to have a very hard time engaging with the threat of climate change. A lot of energy goes into denial and most of the rest goes into business as usual. I find it hard to be optimistic for the planet my kids will inherit. We need to do some urgent things, like stop burning oil and gas, but we don't seem to be able to kick the habit. How do you remain optimistic? I read a lot of history. The degree of hopeless in the past, which we overcame, puts today's despair into perspective. Also, I have children.
Any thoughts on the consumerization of biotech (i.e. DIYBio but I think it's more than that)? I think biotech is going to move much slower than silicon tech for a while. Our bodies will be the last to accelerate.
What do you do each day that brings you the most peace of mind? Soaking in my hot tub under the sky right before climbing into bed.
Hey Kevin, great to see you on Reddit. Thanks for the Cool Tools "Catalog". My wife said it was the modern day Sears and Roebuck catalog. Very cool. What's the latest with Silver Cord and how is the Technium influencing that story? We are on target to deliver a printed book of the complete Silver Cord graphic novel this summer to all the Kickstarter funders who supported us. What I've learned doing this: it's all in the details. Like building a house, it's all the stuff you don't notice that take most of the time.
Hi Kevin, this Dave from the fiberglass shop in Lancaster. What is your view on the future of 3D printing as an industry? Would you think it wise to start a business of that nature? Yes, I think 3D printing could be make into a business today. The proliferation of home models will only fuel the need for professionals. But this will be a horrifically fast-paced business, with constant obsolescence. Then again, folks like you might be able to located a quiet niche -- maybe like repairing 3D printers!
What was you favourite thing about Japan? Ever had the urge to travel through China? I've been to China twice this year already. The thing I liked about hitchhiking in Japan is that the person giving you a ride was socially obligated to find you the next ride! I can't say if this was only for gaijin, but it sure worked for me!
Having homeschooled your children, have you come to any principles about when to introduce technology and how much? Should children try to have an analog experience prior to a certain age? Like a lot of parents we limit access to certain time periods, and to certain ages. Those may shift as we learn more about specific technologies but the idea remains.
What does it takes for a foreigner to write in an american magazine? Is there any other way of learning their textual structure that it is not reading? It's tough. I am sadly monolingual, so I can't help.
Any chance you'll write more on subject of Amish and technology? I would like to write more about the Amish. This summer I had a chance to stay overnight with an Amish family and go to church in their horse buggy Sunday morning, and as always I learned so much more about their curious (to me) ways. They really do operated with a different world view that I am not sure is transferable outside of their society.
So... Steampunk or High Fantasy? Steampunk.
I just had my first daughter 5 months ago and am thinking more about what I can do to make extra money (start a business, grow mushrooms to sell to restaurants, etc). Do you have any advice or ideas about being a new father and starting a business? Starting a biz and starting a family at the same time is hairy. I don't have any other advice that what you usually hear beyond "be useful" and "do stuff that matters."
, I want to say thanks for your contributions to ecology/systems thinking. Specifically, "New Rules", "Better than Free" and "1000 True Fans". I use or refer to them almost daily. My question is: Do you foresee a clash between the ever-increasing divide between Luddites and Early Adopters, Old Money and New Startups, and a fallout of local sustainability? Friction and conflict between those long established, recently established, challenging, and about to challenge will never cease.
